A Message from Ms Lindsay GabrielIt has been a very busy month and half term is already upon us. The hall is having its finishing touches and will be finished this week. We are awaiting the arrival of new library furniture, we cannot wait to show off the transformation and to see it being used by our wonderful children. I am pleased to inform you that a part-time Assistant Head of School has been appointed for Winsham, Ashill and Hatch Beauchamp Schools.
Mrs Joanne Crocker, lead teacher at Ashill Primary School, was successful at interview. Mrs Crocker is an experienced teacher and understands the rewards and challenges of working in small schools. She is passionate about working with each school community and is committed to providing the best education possible for all of the children in The Redstart Learning Partnership. Mrs Crocker will continue with her teaching commitment at Ashill and work across the small schools one day per week focusing on strengthening the quality of teaching and learning.
The children have all been extremely busy, Heron class held an assembly on Ancient Egypt, their attention to detail was superb and all their hard work researching facts, hieroglyphics and enthusiasm for the topic clearly shone through. Heron class will be visiting the Tutankhamun Exhibition in November, Keira was a marvellous Cleopatra. Woodpeckers with Pre-school have been busy on the school field making insect and hedgehog houses, the children have also been making plans for the school field in the spring time, what they would like to plant and where, how to attract more wild life and insects and how to make the environment better for them. It is lovely to hear their suggestions and ideas and they all work so positively together.
Well done to everyone on their efforts with “wear it pink day”. The children made a super effort. Well done and thank you to key stage 2 who provided cakes and to those who helped sell them-a total of £66.50 was raised for Cancer research.
Thank you to the PFA who arranged our Halloween disco, the children and staff had a wonderful time and particularly enjoyed the fog machine. If you are going Trick or Treating next week please have fun but also, please stay safe.
A final thank you for your continued support. We had 100% attendance at our Parents’ evening and we hope you found it useful. I look forward to seeing you all after half tem on Monday 4th November.
Ms Lindsay Gabriel,
